More March

We had a nice April snowstorm last Thursday/Friday - officially giving us another 17 inches. That takes our current total to 314.5 inches - over 26 feet! Last year's seasonal total was 314", but we only had 268" one year ago today. So, the potential remains for lots more snow yet. Saturday and Sunday brought warmer temps to our area, but we still have plenty of snow left on the ground. If the forecast for this week proves correct, we should lose quite a few inches of depth by next Monday.

I have a few more photos to share to finish out the house progress made during the month of March. The window trim was delivered, so the crew started installation. You can see it around some of the bronze windows and doors in the next few shots. The color is sandstone - same as the soffit color.

There will also be a narrow piece of J-trim that goes around the sandstone window trim.

Moving inside the house, the furnace was set in place in the basement.

I thought it was hilarious that Steve also took several photos of the inside of the furnace.

The water heater was unboxed, too. Can you see a problem?

A big dent at the bottom! Well, that certainly wasn't acceptable, but Menards made it right. They sent a replacement up from Marquette the next day. We've been extremely impressed with the customer service at the Marquette Menards. They have a great group of employees there.

Lastly, we have two photos of the guest bathroom shower - now with the glass walls and door. Here it is with the door closed.

Once again, the brown protective tape is still mostly attached. Here it is with the door open.

That concludes the house photos for the month of March. I'll bring you some April shots soon.

All is well in the Keweenaw.
