Sneak Peek Friday - Stone

Monday, June 1st, brought more changes to the property. The excavator (3-man crew) arrived with some heavy equipment and more stone for our driveway. They came about 8:00 a.m. and finished up around 6:30 p.m. Steve was helping them most of the day. The black flies were thick (and I mean thick - like a cloud at times). The excavator was cutting a new path in back of our barn (for the wood burner) and disturbed their habitat, so Steve and the guys were basically chewed alive (and I mean chewed).

Anyway, Steve snapped a few photos for us. They brought stone almost all the way to our garage - stopping short because a cement slab will be poured in front of the garage.

Steve had them build up a low spot in front of the barn where water tended to puddle in the Spring.

They also widened the pathway to "the shack" to give Steve an additional place to push snow in that area of the driveway.

That's it for this week's peek!

All is well in the Keweenaw.
